The HLBC team continues to do a great job! Yesterday we took a busload to three villages. The ladies of the team served the women of the villages with footwashing and handwashing and they taught the children about Jesus.

It was a blessing to hear many women wanting to know more about Jesus. The women of the team talked about how they were touched by the words of the village women.

Pray for these villages as pastors go to share the gospel and then disciple new believers.

HLBC Team

We welcome the HLBC team from Kentucky this week. They are a wonderful group of ladies who are ministering to both the hearts and the bodies of the women here in Ghana. The mission of this team is to show God's love by washing the feet, putting lotion on hands and polish on nails of the ladies in the villages that they are visiting.

There are three women and one pre-teen boy in this team. While the women are sharing the Good News to the women of the villages, the men and boys share with the children. Already the team has been able to minister ,not only to encourage the Christian ladies of each village, but to share the Gospel.

More Team Pics

You Never Know Who's Listening!

It always amazes us when we go out to share the Good News of Christ to the children that just as many adults come too! So when a team of 14 Americans come the interest level is highly increased! Approximately 3,110 children were seen in villages, schools and Bible Clubs this week and almost as many adults heard the Good News as well!

The first picture shows adults watching in the windows of a classroom. The second picture shows what they are watching.

Not Ashamed

The CAL team brought with them beaded bracelets that they used to share the gospel in a 'colorful' way. They taught many children in the villages and schools about the Good News. They also taught the Seedlings how to use the bracelets effectively. They have left many of the bracelets here to be given to more children.

In the first picture Lexi is telling the Good News while Ruth translates for her. In the second picture Ruth then shares what she has observed from the team. In this way, even though the team has left, their ministry in Ghana will continue in the days ahead.

Reminded of VBS!

This week Toby and I have been reminded of the times we have either taught at Vacation Bible School, directed VBS, or attended VBS as a child. Most of the time we wouldn't have large amounts of children at VBS, but were excited to see many hearing the Word of God. I also know that many of you reading this blog have fond memories of past VBS weeks.

We have just spent almost two weeks at "VBS" with the CAL team. Before they came to Ghana the team spent many hours preparing lessons. The lessons were taught to more than 2,000 children that the team had the privilege to visit while here! What a testimony they will be able to share with others about the time they came to Ghana and the impact this has been on the team's lives.

Toby and I hope that in the past Vacation Bible Schools that children have learned about Jesus. We also hope that the efforts of Seed Ministry will have a large impact for Jesus. All the workers here, all the teams that come can see what an impact a smile, a touch or a hug can do for a child.

Through these interactions we have an open door to tell people about our love for Jesus and what He has done in our lives.

Do you know a child near your home, church or work that could use a smile, a hug or an invitation for a ride to your church to learn about Jesus? Give that child your time, give that child a ride and when that child grows up he/she can say, "I remember that time, they showed me love and I learned about Jesus!"

CAL Team

It's been great working with the CAL team this week. The students taught at three Bible Clubs today. The team first went to gather the children, encouraging them to come learn about Jesus. They were pleasantly surprised to see children running toward them anxious to see why the visitors were at their village. The team gathered to sing songs, play games and to teach the children a Bible lesson. The children were so excited to do a craft and receive toffees (candy). The children seemed sad that we had to leave.

Please pray that the seeds planted today in the hearts of children and adults will grow into a harvest!

CAL Team Arrives

Bob, Toby & Emmanuel went to Accra to pick up the Christian Academy Team on Monday. Of course, they were very excited the team was coming in but Toby and Joy were maybe a little bit sad because it happened that July 10th was their 18th wedding anniversary and it is the first one they have ever been separated on such a big day. But they are troopers and persevered with many text messages!
The team arrived in Tamale Tuesday in time to get a quick bite and participate with the Seedlings. Already today, they have visited a school, unpacked and organized the items for their ministry while here and are right now leading a Bible Club! And still managed to find time for a couple of football & basketball games! I think the girl players are about ready to make the guys have to wear skirts as they play!! Lisa and Joshua have planned well and the team seems well prepared. It is great having Joshua with us again. Seth and Caleb are very excited to have some other teens here and I think REALLY enjoyed the ball games!
How God must smile to see young people who love the Lord go out so willingly to share His Kingdom with others! Have you gone on a mission trip lately? God will bless your socks off with every one.!!!

This week we had the privilege of going to disciple a group of new believers in Christ. The village was very far. Bob and Bonnie went on Friday to do teaching and Toby and Joy went on Saturday for another session. Today the people came to Seed Ministry for a baptism. What a joyous event! There was lots of singing and rejoicing. Please pray for these new believers as they go share their faith with others. Also pray that many will come to know the Lord, even the ones in their own families.
